The Curious Science Behind High Fructose Corn Syrup
According to Imperial Science, sucrose (common table sugar produced from sugar cane) is one molecule of glucose bound to one molecule of fructose. However, I cannot find any data about the blood sugar levels for both glucose AND fructose after ingestion of sucrose. If both sugars do not appear in equal amounts in the blood stream then it is obvious that the empire has left out some critical detail about the metabolic pathways for both of these sugars when derived from sucrose.
According to Imperial Science, High Fructose Corn Syrup HFCS (55) is 55% fructose by weight.
Imperial science does agree that fructose is metabolised by the liver.
There are also the political motivations for the Empire since HFCSs are produced in America’s conservative heartland. HFCS sends millions (billions?) of dollars to the economies of those States. The switchover to HFCS also occurred after the Empire lost control of the sugar cane production in Cuba.
Returning to the lack of science about HFCS
If you do not measure the actual blood levels of glucose and fructose after ingestion of sucrose then you do not actually know if sucrose is functionally a glucose/fructose molecule. If you consume sucrose and then little to no fructose appears in your blood stream then the Empire has intentionally committed scientific fraud.
The simplest test is to measure the fructose in the blood stream after consuming sucrose and HFCS. Measurements of other potential factors like insulin are irrelevant.
The simple deceptive imperial argument is that sucrose is exactly equivalent to HFCS. Except that sucrose does not cause fatty livers in mice. HFCS does cause fatty livers in mice.
To destroy the empire’s science defending HFCS prove that sucrose does not actually produce high fructose levels in the bloodstream.
A Personal Story About Fructose
When I was younger, I had a lot of health issues. One thing that I tried was switching over to using pure fructose as a sweetener. That ended in disaster since I rapidly developed kidney stones.
After that I was acutely sensitive to anything which contained fructose. As little as 3 colas with fructose could bring on kidney stones and a trip to the hospital.
However, I am also a chocolate addict. I always check the label of any chocolate for the presence of glucose-fructose. Higher quality chocolates usually never contain fructose-glucose.
I literally cannot tolerate fructose in my blood stream. If the Empire’s description of sucrose were factual, I would not be able to eat chocolate or anything sweetened with sucrose.
It is not an exaggeration when I say that I get between 20 to 30% of my calories from chocolate sweetened by sucrose. At the same time, I am acutely sensitive to fructose.
The Empire is lying about the actual properties of how sucrose is metabolized. If the “apparent” fructose molecule in sucrose actually appeared in my blood stream I would be in agony. Therefore, this alleged fructose molecule in sucrose does not actually make it into my bloodstream.
The Empire’s argument that sucrose is a “natural” form of High Fructose Corn Syrup is false.
The fatty mouse livers also tell us the same story.
Fructose appears to be a very toxic sugar. A toxic sugar which is disproportionally consumed by poor Americans. The same poor Americans who do not have access to health care in America.
The American Empire produces a product which only benefits their reliable political base along with a few rich bastards. The poor suffer serious and even fatal health effects so that Coca Cola can save a few cents on a bottle of Coke by using High Fructose Corn Syrup.
